Be Curious

Curiosity leaves us in wonder.

There is a question as to what the value of curiosity is if there is any. Yes, curiosity helps us search for more information about what interests us and that we do not yet know about. It drives us to gather more knowledge and expand our understanding, and over time the more we realize, the smarter we can be.

If we are suddenly not curious anymore, it means we are somehow satisfied with what we already know or simply disinterested in what more there is to know. Even though it may be for legitimate reasons, it doesn’t necessarily provide a way for you to become smarter, just more adept at what is already known. Curiosity and an open mind are essential for the growth of knowledge and learning.

Open inquiry and forming questions keep us alive when we would rather just give up and accept everything as it is. By nature, that’s not what we’re inclined to do. We push our boundaries, explore, and hope for a better tomorrow.

It’s not practical to just rely on what we already know for the rest of our lives. Hence, we are curious about a number of things. It helps us continue to learn and grow, and gain multiple perspectives, to develop what is widely known as wisdom.

We often wonder what wisdom actually entails. It becomes what it is through time and experience in a person and we consider them not only knowledgable but with a subtle understanding of how things ultimately work, and we go to them for sage advice.

Wisdom comes from curiosity, and the benefit of wisdom is why it’s valuable to gather information and make the connections needed to discover new insights.

For a while, I had an acute interest in analyzing information. I thought that I could somehow use my mind to discover valuable theories that would ease the pain and suffering of many people who continually questioned the state of things and couldn’t accept the way the world seemed.

I set out to gather that information and synthesize new information from it by forming unlikely connections via my creative mind. I didn’t do it fully consciously.
