A day has 86400 seconds

Time moves slowly, but passes quickly! Isn't it?

I am sure by seeing the topic you wanted to grab a calculator to confirm. Actually, I did the same, I used a calculator to confirm if a day really has those many seconds by checking whether 24x60x60 equals 86400. As I was thinking about 86400 seconds, I recalled one of the whatsapp stories, let me share it with you.

"In a class, the professor asks: Let’s assume that you had ₹86,400 and someone stole ₹10 from you, would you throw away the remaining ₹86,390 that you still have and get your ₹10 back? Or would you just let it go?

All of the students said that they would let it go".

I am sure all of you would do the same thing. Right?

Then the professor continued….

"You can always work for more money, but once a second passes, you never get it back. Every time someone upsets us, it probably takes our 10 seconds, so why do we throw away the remaining 86,390 seconds by worrying or being upset about it?"

Lately, I have understood that everything that happens, happens for the good. Earlier I used to spend time lavishly, procrastinating and never really caring about time. But while introspecting, I thought of the time that I had spent aimlessly and regretted. I realised that wasting my time leads me nowhere. Now, I have reduced my habit of worrying about the consequences and regretting over the past. This transition was possible by practicing the mantra "Do what you love, Love what you do". Enjoy every second of the day and treasure every moment that you have! It’s similar to Einstein’s Theory of Relativity. If you are happy and enjoying the things you do, time flies like anything. This helps to add more value to your time.

Also, remember that time waits for none. There is a saying that "time destroys those who destroy it". Enjoying every second of the day doesn't mean to waste our time doing unnecessary things. We need to utilise our time properly by doing meaningful things and more importantly we need to enjoy every second of it.

The overall point here is, If you fail to use the day’s deposits, the loss is yours. There is no going back. There is no drawing against the “tomorrow”. You must live in the present on today’s deposits. Invest it so as to get from it the utmost in health, happiness, and success! This business strategy is beautifully explained in the Bhagavad Gita, it says: "Don't regret about the past, don't worry about the future, live in the present".

The clock is ticking. It will allow you to step back and contemplate what you are doing with your gift of time. Make the most of today. And make everyday worth remembering.

Think about the balance every morning when you wake up and ask yourself:
