So i Figured out that I have a credit score of 593, that 7 points shy of the cut off for auto loans from pretty much EVERY bank around. I have paid off old debts, but I guess it take years for it to come off. I make 35000 annually and have around 1700/mo of dissposable income. I can easily make a car payment. I am in teh market for a new auto b/c my old one doesnt have much left in her. Is it possible to get a loan for the car i want it isnt very expensive 24000. I missed the tier by 7 pts and now I am seen as an outcast. Credit is the biggest load of BS ever but i should have kept my finances in order back then, anyway I really need a new car or a newer car and I know that by paying on time for a few months it will look great on my credit and raise it but I cant get to that point because of 7 points. Basically my husbands van is in my name because I had good credit. My car is also in my name. I am filing and we want to keep both cars and continue making payments. My lawyer mentioned that I can go to the judge and work out some sort of promise to pay agreement. So there’s another part of this that is really important. My husband recently got into an accident with a car that is in his name which would be the 3rd car. He was given the option to use the check from the insurance to use to help trade in his van (in my name though). I am just worried that if we do that it will interfere with me qualifying for chapter 7. Will that count as a large purchase made on my part by trading in the van? If we trade it in we plan to put it in his name. I emailed my lawyer over a week ago on this matter but he just won’t respond because he is so busy. I need to decide by today. Please help.

Hi I recently bought a car and found out that it has outstanding finance from the previous owners log book loan. I got a letter the other day saying I have been tracked as the legal owner of the car and that if payment is not made in 7 days then the car will be reposessed. I just want to know what my rights are as I live in the countryside there are no busses the nearest shop is 7 miles I have 2 kids one disabled and has to attend appointments at the hospital 25miles away. So a car is very much needed. Can the car just be taken from me? When the bailiff comes if the car is on my driveway and I have the gates to the driveway closed and padlocked (i do this to keep the dogs in) are they still able to take the car or is this classed as trespassing?. I think im going to put a car loan under my b/f’s name (He and I live together for a year and r dating for 9 so breaking up isnt likely) he makes very good money about 7 thousand a mounth after taxes and has good credit…..but at the same time he doesnt have alot of credit if that makes sence.
